President elections: Thomas Byrne

Over the past year the NUS has been brought into disarray over tuition fees.

So many the government does is good. We need to not throw tantrums and get locked out of the negotiating room.

Nick Clegg is the PM, he is the one sitting at the table, making the decisions.

Where is the protest about state schools.

If it means getting students out on protests then I am not your man.

There is a huge disconnect between NUS and students on campus.

Unfortunately, the NUS has been a factory for Labour careerists who fail to put student interests at heart. I am one candidate that will never join that party.

NUS cannot afford to shout ineffectively from the sidelines.

We need to show that NUS can change. NUS can represent ever single student that needs our help. Not just cliques here at conference.
