Porter: We did not always get our tactics right

Porter says that there needs to be a serious debate about tactics. He says that he did not always make the right call and he apologises for this.

He says that there was real unity among the movement last summer but that there was not a good enough plan for after November 10.

He was taken by surprise by the violence of some elements. He later says that violence against people or property, “is never justified.” He also praises the vast majority of peaceful protest.

He says that it is, “insulting and demeaning” to compare Trafalgar Square to Tahrir Square. The corwd applauses and cheers this sentiment.
